Hazel awakens in a distant future as the last human survivor in a laboratory on a polluted island, accompanied only by small robots and an artificial intelligence system. Both women suffer from amnesia, but when they sleep their consciousnesses meet across time in shared dreams. As they attempt to recover their memories, they uncover connections between their missions and the fate of humanity.
