I got tired of the "HOUSE" doing stuff. The ending was decent but it was a long read to get there. Other Ruth Ware books are better.

A re-writing of Henry James’ The Turn of the Screw, The Turn of the Key by Ruth Ware follows Rowan, a young nanny, who accepts a position at a state-of-the-art smart house in the remote Scottish Highlands. As the days pass, Rowan begins to…

I think I came in with too high of expectations based on other reviews. It was a good story, but not suspenseful at all and there was only 1 real twist. The main character was pretty annoying so I had a hard time caring at all what…

A fast beach read but not a great novel.

For me it was a little slow in parts, but finally by the end of the book you get A LOT of surprises, like those "OMG!!!" moments.. Other than being slightly slow at the beginning it was a good read!

"The Turn of the Key is an interesting take on the babysitter thriller genre. The story begins with a seemingly perfect opportunity for our main protagonist, Rowan Caine, as she comes across an ad for a nannying job. One moment, she…

This was my first Ruth Ware and it definitely did not disappoint. I really enjoyed this book and was definitely flipping pages on the edge of my seat to find out what was going to happen. I read this in a day!

I really enjoyed this novel. It was creepy and kept me on edge. It was one of the ones I couldn't put down until I got to the end.

The structure of the book, written as a long letter, was a bit off-putting, but the author kept my interest throughout. However, the ending was most disappointing

This was a well done little thriller. The plot was good and held my interest. I’m not sure I quite understand what happened to her in the end and would have liked to hear more about Jack but still it was a satisfying ending. I still think…

If you don't want to sleep at night start reading this book.. I could not put it down. Yes, as one person said "creepy" and scary for 4 children. Enjoy!!!

Loved it!! Super creepy and I did NOT see the ending coming. I so badly want to know what happened with Rowan...I guess that’s part of the intrigue.

This one was too predictable for me, which is reflected in the rating. Meh.

Ruth Ware is an extremely smart thriller writer, and Turn of the Key is atmospheric without being brooding, building the tension imperceptibly but irrevocably, as if the entire plot is just beyond our perception. Things natural, and…

What a easy page turn. Just a ripping story that didn't lose pace. I was trying to pick an ending while tearing through it but had no idea how it would pan out. The twists come left and right in the back end. A nice palate cleanser that…

I started one of her other books long ago and couldn't read it. I read this book. It is bad. Characters are poorly drawn. The plot is sloppy. The only good thing is that it is an E book, at the library, and is free. I just finished…

The best Ruth Ware title I've read!! I just loved it. The ending was terrible and terrific at the same time. What a gem!

One of my very favorite authors. I've read every one of her books.

An imperfect nanny, precocious unruly children, a heavy stepping ghost, betrayal and an isolated mansion..all the ingredients for a thriller. I was enjoying the story so much, I did not see the ending coming. I also enjoyed the method…

I love all of Ruth Ware's book, but this was one of my favorites. Although some didn't find the main character likeable, I believe she redeemed herself in the end. Usually I can see the final twist coming, but did not in this one! I loved…

I thoroughly enjoyed this roller coaster of a book. Once you think you know what's going on, there's a twist, with a HUGE one at the end! If you enjoy psychological thrillers with a bit of a creep factor, I would definitely check this out!

Captivated from the beginning. Quick, and interesting mystery. The only thing I would change would be the book cover......by adding a beautiful landscape of the house and garden too....and then the key, maybe.....😏

The beginning of the book almost made me throw it out the window. I didn't like the style one bit. The main character basically writes (and rewrites) a letter (letters?) to an attorney she hopes might take her case. She claims that she did…
