This is one of my favorites in the Sherbrooke series although I will say that the first part of the book (the part that takes place in Jamaica) is much better than the last part. Sophie is a much more fascinating heroine when she's fighting her own battles in the first part. Once Ryder marries her and ships Sophie and her brother off to England, she becomes so helpless and weak that it's hard to believe it's the same woman. But by the end of the book she's back to being a strong capable woman and the ending is very satisfying.
