It would never be fair to hold Clancy to a literary set of standards. He is the "everyman's" master story teller, and I use yarn spinning criteria when I measure his works. This book contains one heck of a good yarn as told by the best of the best. I am stunned and mystified at how his plot points, almost perfectly, recount the events occurring today in the Ukraine. I hope the outcome of the current situation may be less bloody than the (optimistic) finale of Clancy's fast and furious novel. Even though the real situation is dangerous, deadly, and potentially catastrophic, neither reporters nor historians will ever be able to recount the history of todays events as well as Clancy foretells it, in this, his last and gut-wrenching novel.
