I read this for the Mystery Lovers Book Group. It was kind of a mystery but really, it's much more of an action story. It's the first Jack Reacher book in the series, if that means anything to you. The hero is big and tough and doesn't have a lot of depth, which is pretty much what you want in an action novel. The prose could get pretty bad, and I didn't appreciate the way he involved his brother in the story (no spoiler here!) but I liked the way the hero narrates what he's thinking and doing -- including the fight scenes. It's a not-very-serious book for those days when that's exactly what you want. A quick and fun read.
