A young pigtailed girl is very excited when the time of the Midnight Sun comes to her home in Alaska. To celebrate the longest day of the year, she embarks on a series of adventures with her brother and her mother. They try to do as much as possible to have fun fishing, playing games, and having a picnic. Along the way they encounter wildlife that is depicted with beautiful clarity in illustrations that abound with sunlight and natural perfection. As a lover of the Midnight Sun here or farther north, I was very pleased to see this lovely book.
