The Concise Dictionary of American Jewish BiographyBook - 1994
A biographical dictionary containing some 24,000 brief biographies of American Jews. The names of these individuals were taken from standard sources for American Jewish biography, with additional information (and additional names) from such sources as Who Was Who in America and Notable American Women. A longer entry might include exact dates of birth and death, a complete history of the education, the most important accomplishments, the sources of information, and a citation to the obituary. Each entry concludes with every source used for that entry. An effort was made to include only dead Jews; the exceptions can read what the editors said of them in their antemortem portrayals.
