The highly anticipated, #1 New York Times bestselling sequel to One of Us Is Lying! There's a new mystery to solve at Bayview High, and there's a whole new set of rules.
Come on, Bayview, you know you've missed this.

A ton of copycat gossip apps have popped up since Simon died, but in the year since the Bayview four were cleared of his shocking death, no one's been able to fill the gossip void quite like he could. The problem is no one has the facts.
Until now.
This time it's not an app, though—it's a game.
Truth or Dare.
Phoebe's the first target. If you choose not to play, it's a truth. And hers is dark.
Then comes Maeve and she should know better—always choose the dare.
But by the time Knox is about to be tagged, things have gotten dangerous. The dares have become deadly, and if Maeve learned anything from Bronwyn last year, it's that they can't count on the police for help. Or protection.
Simon's gone, but someone's determined to keep his legacy at Bayview High alive. And this time, there's a whole new set of rules.
"Few craft teen suspense like McManus." —Entertainment Weekly

"A thriller from one of the best writers in the YA mystery genre, One of Us Is Next delivers more shocking surprises and twists you won't see coming." —PASTE

It was a good 7/10. I feel some conversations were cringy and unrealistic but it had a good storyline. I also feel like the ending was unfinished.

Karen McManus strikes again with another thrilling mystery, but this time starring Maeve Rojas, tech-savvy little sister of one of the original Bayview four; Knox, her ex-boyfriend; and Phoebe, who works at Café Contigo. When the three juniors all fall victim to a vicious revamp of Simon’s app—Truth or Dare—secrets are revealed, friendships are tested, and lives are in danger. Recommend reading One of Us is Lying before One of Us is Next because the setting, school, and characters overlap frequently. Great for fans of big plot twists and readers who like to solve the mystery themselves.

I really liked this! McManus can weave a great mystery and it was nice to see some returning characters.

I mean this so far has become the best book I have read. I love the intense mystery and the twisted plots, that have a little bit of a romance mixed in. I would highly recommend this book!!!!!

I was very excited to read this book, as I loved her previous ones: One of us is Lying and Two can Keep a Secret. I enjoyed this book, but not as much as her other ones.

One of Us is Next by Karen McManus is the sequel to the murder-mystery One of Us is Lying that follows a new cast of characters and their conflict with a new copycat version of the old gossip app. Most of the characters in this new book played minor roles in the first story, allowing the reader to recognize and remember aspects of their character before the story even starts. On top of the new main characters playing roles in the first story, readers are given insight on what the Bayview Four is up to now and their relationships with each other as they’ve grown older. This is a nice way to create a new story with familiar characters while satisfying readers who wanted to see what the future for the original four was like after everything died down. With the bar set high from its predecessor, the new cast of characters is written and developed well, just as in the first book. However, as the first story had action right away, its sequel spends more time building up to the action, which can be disappointing to some readers who don’t like a slow start to a story. As a sequel, the story is very heavily intertwined with the plot of the original story making the task of reading One of Us is Lying necessary before picking this one up. Overall One of Us is Next is a very satisfying sequel worth reading if you enjoyed the first of the series, both for another well-written mystery and to see the future of the original cast.

I loved this book. Although I wasn’t able to figure out the mastermind in the first book before it was revealed, I was able to figure it out this time around. It did not make this book any less enjoyable. There were still plenty of plot twists that kept things thrilling and fresh. I think the author did a great job of keeping us updated on our four favorites from the previous book while introducing us to a new set of friends. I think Knox is my favorite with Maeve as a close second. Highly recommend!

The worst part of One of Us is Next is how quickly I finished the book. McManus truly built a captivating and amazing murder mystery that I wish went on just to satisfy my need for more. In this sequel to One of Us is Lying, high schoolers Maeve, Phoebe, and Knox deal with family issues, relationships, and problems with peers, which can be relatable to many teens out there. And on top of these conflicts, this group of friends takes on the task of finding who is responsible for the death of their classmate. I really enjoyed the very surprising plot twists that eventually led to an end that I was definitely not expecting. If the first book kept you on the edge of your seat, this book will blow you to the moon.

I couldn't manage this. Too much stupidity - hormone induced, no doubt - but no one was particularly interesting. It is easy to set a wolf among sheep and that's what these characters are - sheep. Except, I like sheep.
