If you watched the extensive "making of" extras, you would have seen that this movie was actually a combination of all 3 books, which might have been why it was so disjointed. While the movie was good, it could have been so mush tighter plot wise. Again, watching the extras, you discover that this film was shot initially without a completed script, and that extensive additional shooting was done before it was releasec.

Definitely watch the deleted scenes, as many of them would have improved the movie immensely if included. I have never seen a disk with over 45 minutes of deleted scenes, which tends to explain why the movie felt unfinished. And one of the critical scenes at the end in the crashed ship was hinted at during the making of special, but never even included in the deleted scenes.

I'm excited to learn that this is part of a trilogy and has already been optioned, all with the same novelist/screen writer from A Monster Calls. I have an inkling that we have not seen the last of Mads Mikkelsson either. Tom Holland is also great, his Noise is so funny.

Todd (Tom Holland) has been brought up to believe that the Spackle released a germ that killed all the women and unleashed Noise on the remaining men. After discovering a patch of silence, his surrogate parents warn him that he has to run, leaving him with only a map of New World and a message... He soon discovers the source of the silence: a girl, named Viola (Daisy Ridley). The two then must hurry to warn an incoming ship of settlers as Mayor Prentiss (Mads Mikkelsen, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) prepares an army for war.
