This 9-track album is mostly forgettable but, for me, Waiting on A War, was the standout and was written on behalf of their kids, I think. Chasing Birds was a little trippy diversion from style and Love Dies Young was clearly written for their epic arena shows. But bless Dave Grohl for still battling to keep rock and roll alive and, by all accounts, for just being a really decent person.

It's one thing to recognize the influences in any band's music. It's another to listen through the album and think, "Ok, this is their Bowie song. This is their Pink Floyd song. This is their Rolling Stones song." I just really wish this album included more recognizably Foo Fighter's songs.

A definite improvement over the last two albums. Glad to hear a little more variety to the sound.

This is probably the best album the Foo Fighters have put out since Wasting Light in 2011.
