Brilliant, visionary Nikola Tesla fights an uphill battle to bring his revolutionary electrical system to fruition, then faces thornier challenges with his new system for worldwide wireless energy. The film tracks Tesla's uneasy interactions with his fellow inventor Thomas Edison and his patron George Westinghouse. Another thread traces Tesla's sidewinding courtship of financial titan J.P. Morgan, whose daughter Anne takes a more than casual interest in the inventor.

An interesting mix of movie, theatre, and documentary loosely told from the perspective of Anne Morgan, daughter of JP Morgan. This is more than just a look at Tesla. It is a fantastic history lesson into the early development of power generation and distribution. There are some liberties taken with the subject, but I think they are meant keep the viewer engaged while also highlighting many things we take for granted in daily life that were entirely made possible by Tesla's ingenuity.

Artistic liberty taken with the movie. I knew nothing about Tesla, so found it interesting, though slow. A crazy kind of ending with a so g.

Which was worse, the writing of this fiasco, or the acting ?
Not many films make us feel cheated out of 102 minutes of our day.
this one did.

Not very entertaining, lost interest after 30 minutes,
went to sleep while it played on....

Clever use of "Artistic License" (google it), particularly during the Tears for Fears scene. A monkey could have developed direct current....AC, transformers, motors...that science was a GOD-send. The fact that THE human who gifted mankind with these tools died a pauper only amplifies his genius and solidifies his enigmatic reputation. A great movie to see.

I totally agree with the comments from others who rated this as 1-2 stars, especially with Raun who points out that this film is disrespectful of Tesla’s actual contributions and the weirdness of the film was a total distraction. For someone who actually did make such an astounding contribution to his field, it’s a shame the film makers chose to portray him as some kind of character and show him in ludicrous situations in hopes of making their film “artsy”. A total waste of some fine talent and of my time.

The life and contributions of Tesla are worth learning about but this film is disrespectful of that. There are a few scenes of merit but overall this film is mediocre and its weird quirkiness is a distraction.

Clever imagined biopic of the visionary genius Tesla that surely are mostly freewheeling fiction than reality. A better film, at least more entertaining, than the Tesla character in The Current War (2019). For more Tesla, suggest to peruse The Prestige (2006) for the Tesla character portrayed by David Bowie.

Notes:
- Kyle MacLachlan (Agent Cooper in Twin Peaks) plays the other genius Thomas Edison.
- Also felt the song (Everybody Wants to Rule the World ) was out of place at first. But later, I see why it is an integral part to demonstrate Tesla's character: a dreamer and that people are living in his dreams (ideas) now.

Disappointing. Good to see Jim Gaffigan as George Westinghouse. Too many dark scenes.
