Perhaps the quintessential American voice of the mid-10th C, his personal history is fascinating and compelling. With this documentary, we much better understand the man behind the reputation of this marvelous writer.

Mark Twain was probably one of the most interesting Americans ever if not the most interesting. Ken Burns documentary is a truly great examination of his life and times.

Although considered a great humorist, Mark Twain's life was filled with sadness. This poignancy is aptly portrayed in this biography of a truly great man.
