This is a bit different from Taylor's usual fare. But it's a great mellow album. I love her story telling.

The ever-talented, uber-intelligent Taylor Swift has outdone herself with her album, Folklore. From the incomparable songwriting to the masterful production, this may be one of her best-written -- if not, one of the best-written -- albums of all time. Considering this isn’t her regular style of music, she has a strong grasp on the genre, showing incredible versatility. I particularly enjoyed the scattered literary references to the likes of Jane Eyre, Rebecca, and The Road Not Taken. In addition, Swift's unmatched ability to diversify the album and keep it cohesive captivates listeners even more. All in all, with consideration of the aforementioned, I would rate Folklore a 5/5. -@MythicalDreamer7 of the Hamilton Public Library's Teen Review Board
Folklore, by Taylor Swift is a poetic masterpiece. The album isn’t typically the genre that Taylor usually goes for, but it was amazing. I’m really surprised at how she wrote all the songs off this album during the pandemic. The lyrics in each song were described so well, the writing held so much emotion. I liked how soothing and soft her voice was in this album - it went really well with the lyrics and theme of the album. My favourite songs off the album would be cardigan, exile and my tears ricochet. I would say that this is definitely one of her best albums (along with evermore) and I really enjoyed it. I rate this album a 5/5.

Taylor showcases her versatility in this poetic album, which was written during the pandemic and is quite different than her previous albums. The lyrics are interesting and the sound is mellow. This is a relaxing, indie-sounding album.

I finally took a step away from The Chicks and have given Folklore a true chance. I am for sure a ballad girl, which makes this album perfect for me. But I did find more songs than usual that I just skip while listening. I think she offers wonderful storytelling, which I live for. Also, yes, I have dove into all the conspiracies about what all the songs mean and how they are connected, so let me know if you’ve got theories. I think I listen to Betty at least 5 times a day, it just reminds me so much of her early stuff, and I love it. Other stand outs for me are Exile (that man’s voice KILLS me), The 1 (#relatable), Illicit Affairs (for the anger), and Invisible String (just makes me happy). Overall, I have enjoyed it a lot, I have yet to figure out where it lies in my line up of her albums, so I’ll get back to you on that!

Folklore being out of Taylor's usual genre music zone she managed to put together a beautiful, amazing album! She truly outdid herself and outdid many artist's who've been in this alternative-pop/folk-type genre for years. Definitely give it a listen. It's her second album out as a solo artist without a label. Jack Antonoff is an incredible musician, producer and lyricist who assisted and played a big role in making this album truly amazing.
