I can totally understand how a nice person would end up being friends with someone so awful for so long. You keep hoping and believing that it has nothing to do with you. That you are making a difference through your kindness and love and generosity. Only people like the trumps take advantage of such good people. They are users, liars and this woman (I won't say First Lady as the degrades all who proceeded her) was the worse possible representation of our country. Her nude photos and her alleged modeling career that just degrade and debase women everywhere, is an affront to all women. I am so glad the author finally saw what was going on.....she was set free finally. I know personally what it is like so I understand how hard it was for her to make a final and complete break.

Words cannot express how sorry I feel for Mrs. Wolkoff. The way she went to bat for so long for someone who didn't care is heartbreaking. I hope her life is in a state of normalcy now and the pain will lessen with time.

Fairly well written book. But it's difficult to understand why the author didn't recognize a superficial friendship with a superficial woman long before she did. Seems that she was blinded by the lights for a long time. Melania comes off not looking good in this book, but I expected worse.

I really couldn't get into this book. Perhaps I didn't give it a fair try. I skimmed over most of it.

Just another tell all by another disgruntled Trump associate. I found it hard to feel sorry for Ms Wolkoff . She had been friends with Melanie for fifteen years and worked in the White House for a year without pay. How could she not know what the Trumps were like? She seemed either naive or wanted to be caught up in the glamour regardless of how they treated her. She tried to stay connected to Melania even after they railroaded her. Seems the only reason she finally severed her friendship was when the threat of criminal investigation surfaced.

A well written look into the life of Melania Trump. Wolkoff is an excellent writer and tells her story in an engaging manner. I read a lot of suspenses and thrillers and in many ways Melania and Me follows their pattern -- the story begins with interesting, yet seemingly easy going characters. They go to lunch, they laugh, they share the ups and downs of their lives. And then one of the characters says or does something that makes you stop and back up because you are sure you missed something. One line makes the story turn from an interesting read to a white knuckle page turner. This is what Wolkoff's personal life was....she thought she had a friend, a career, a life that was fulfilling and she would do far into the future. And then a self-centered, egotistical, narcissist took that away from her. Yes, Wolkoff bought into Melania's line -- and in some ways the book ends with her still believing in "poor Melania" but everything she held dear, except for her family, was destroyed by the Trump family, including the woman she thought was her friend. Sadly what reads like a well written thriller is Wolkoff's real life.

I wasn't all that interested in Melania Trump. I had and still have my thoughts about her and what she really is and Wolkoff's book doesn't change that. More it confirms what my personal thoughts are.

Because Wolkoff tells her story so well, it isn't a pity party and it isn't dull, I'd love to see her write fiction - perhaps a story where the ending is a better one for a character that resembles her.

Hard to feel sorry for either one of them. Trump's disgusting reputation goes back many decades. Everyone who hitches onto the Trump circus wagon eventually gets burned.

One of the worst books I have read in a long time. Wolkoff spent her 300 plus pages defending herself and stating how great she was. She is also a name dropper (many of whom no one outside of this world would know)...
Let me also say, I think trump is despicable and Wolkoff constantly stating "loved to u etc" to her is revolting. Wolkoff obviously is a poor judge of character

I would not tolerate a “friend” who treated me as Melania treated her. Yet the author keeps going back for more. Just another example of how stupid some people are about the Tumps.

Honestly, I made it to page 37 and it just seemed like a self-promoting bitchfest so I went back to reading books with substance such as The Beekeeper of Aleppo.
