Resistance
DVD - 2020
Before he was the world-famous mime Marcel Marceau, he was Marcel Mangel, an aspiring Jewish actor who joined the French Resistance to save the lives of thousands of children orphaned at the hands of the Nazis. A compelling drama about a group of unsung heroes who put themselves in harm's way to rise above hatred and oppression during World War II.

Add a CommentA very good story about Marcel M during the Nazi germany era.
I grew up watching the Ed Sullivan show and saw Marcel Marceau perform. No other mime has ever achieved his finesse. I enjoyed learning about his history in fighting against the Nazis. Highly recommend. Kristi & Abby Tabby

Good, interesting story practically ruined by Jesse Eisenberg's terrible miming (I almost never understood what he was doing) and constantly morphing accent. How did the director let him get away with such a poor performance?

Resistance - I liked this movie. Historical/Fiction. I think Jesse Eisenberg is a strong talented actor. I was fascinated as he played Marcel Marceau. He was a freedom fighter, risking his life to save young Jewish orphans from Nazis.
Well, first off when I saw Marcel Marceau on various evening entertainment TV shows back in the late 50's (esp The Ed Sullivan Show) and into the 60's, I had no idea he was a war hero. He was merely a mime performing. This was an enlightening film, with on the edge suspense, combined by very convincing performances by all revealing the heroic accomplishments by those who served "undercover".

The story of mime Marcel Marceau as he works with a group of Jewish boy scouts and the French Resistance to save the lives of ten thousand orphans during World War II.
