The Dixie Chicks have been my life since I was a little girl, so when things went south for them during a concert in Texas, no one was more upset than me. They then released the single “Not Ready to Make Nice,” and it became my angry anthem for years to come. After not hearing from them in nearly 15 years, they are back and stronger than ever. To distance themselves from the country music community, they removed “Dixie” from their name and re-entered the music world as The Chicks. Their songs have such power and emotion. The three women of the group have grown together, and each gone through love, loss, friendship, and raising children. I’ve been meaning to make time for Taylor Swift’s Folklore, but I just can’t leave this album. If you need another real angry girl jam give “Tights on My Boat” a listen, and my fave slow emotional one is “Everybody Loves you.” Give it a listen and let me know your thoughts!
I believe that they are called "The Chicks" nowadays.
