Medical educators attempt to redress some aspects of medicine that have been forgotten or lost in current medical teaching and practice. They believe that the arts of storytelling and listening are central to current medical practice, and can help re-establish links with patients and their relatives, with colleagues, and with students, and can improve the care and understanding doctors provide. Their topics include stories in the consultation, children and story, stories in medical education and training, the hospital's story, and the end of the story.
