I waited a long time for this book and it was a total disappointment. There is nothing here that is new. He seems to have done it all without consulting his wife. Grab Marie Kondo instead!

Review This is a topic that Joshua Becker has written about before. It is a great concept and needs exploring. However, I felt that the book was too repetitive. I would say the subject matter was fit for an essay which was expanded for a book. Worth skimming over.

And yet another book on minimalism...if I was going through a stack of books on minimalism and was deciding which of them brought me "joy", I'd be putting this on the "non-joy" pile. It's a fine book but I just didn't find myself connecting with it.

An excellent book that will get you thinking/dreaming about how your life could be different if you have less stuff to take care of, clean, and maintain. If you could save money and time with a simpler amount of possessions, and maybe even a smaller home, how would your life be different? Perhaps pursue a dream of career change, housing change or more time for what's most important to you! I especially enjoyed the latter part: after you've minimized your possessions, what would you Really like to do? Spend more time with family, or investing in others? Great book. I recommend it!

"The goal of minimalism is not just to own less stuff. The goal is to unburden our lives so we can accomplish more." This is a quote by Joshua Becker in The Minimalist Home. Minimalism in your home and life simplifies every aspect of living. The author offers room-by-room examples to streamline possessions and furniture. Objects that are not necessary can be relocated, sold, donated or recycled. This book is not for hoarders: minimalism could apply to most of our homes. Joshua Becker guides through the process to make life simpler and allow more time to do things that really matter. The Minimalist Home is well-explained and provides easy-to-follow suggestions on how to proceed. This is definitely an example of less is more. A useful tool.
