On the way home to Utah to see her sick mother, college student Darby Thorne is stranded by a blizzard at a highway rest stop in the Colorado Rockies. She'll have to spend the night in a rest stop in the middle of nowhere with four complete strangers. Then she stumbles across a little girl locked inside an animal crate in the back of a van. There is no cell phone reception, no telephone, no way out because of the snow, and she doesn't know which of the other travelers is the kidnapper.

Whoa nelly, this was one wild ride!

The villain is revealed early on, but don't let that stop you. Several twists come out from seemingly nowhere, that leave you sitting back thinking What just happened??!!! This book contains a lot more blood and gore than I usually read, but I still couldn't put it down. All in all, this book kept me on the edge of my seat -- action packed and full of surprises, this is one phenomenal read.

This was a fast read filled with action and twists. I'll be watching for more from Taylor Adams.

I couldn't put this one down! It was faced pace and kept me interested. The characters were well done. Darby was heroic and fearless and the boys were horrible and evil.

Oh Lordy! Where do I start with this one!

Let’s say first of all, I could not put this one down. It was very fast paced and you wanted to keep reading until the end. You were on constant pins and needles throughout the novel and it was a job well done.

You cheered for Darby. She was no nonsense, and kept fighting on even when it felt like there was nowhere to turn to and things started turning really ugly. Yes she obviously did some very stupid mistakes along the way and this may infuriate some readers. However I liked her grit and her determination to keep that child alive.

The twists in this book is enough to put you on the edge of your seat. It keeps you interested and makes you want to keep reading to see what might be coming up next. I have to admit, the ending seemed a bit outrageous and it got to the point where it was a little over the top in dramatics. However, I’ll forgive for this time as I enjoyed reading this book.

The villains were well created, albeit cruel and horrible. Lars and Ashley do make a rather interesting duo and the little twist involving some bystanders at the rest stop was a nice addition to the plot. I did not care too much for the animal cruelty though, but I suppose it’s to be expected with someone of Ashley’s cruelty and manner. The little subplot involving his uncle was also interesting and adds another dimension to the book (albeit a small one).

Definitely take the time to read this! It’s a quick fast paced read and you feel the tension and suspense throughout the book. If you can ignore the over the top craziness towards the finale, you’ll find an enjoyable read from start to finish.

A nail biting stay up and read book. Yes it is violent, but so are most high tense reads. If you are looking for a way to spend a raining day I would recommend this roller coaster book.

This book had potential, and I can honestly say I enjoyed the first half. The author did an effective job of creating his trapped rest stop atmosphere, the development was initially quick, and I was surprised by a twist. BUT then a racist joke happened (that could have instead just been insinuated, for horrible-character development sake) and I mentally checked out. From around that point, the plotline dragged on too long and that twisted feeling was lost, instead replaced with gore and attempted shock value. I think this one would make a decent movie, but it fizzled out for me as a read. And that's the tea.
