I really enjoyed this book. Such an unexpected ending. A fun read with
A great plot twist.

So disappointed in Reese's latest pick! The prologue gave the book away. Not much of a mystery from the get-go. There was also nothing likable about any of the characters in the book.

It was a page turner for me. I didn't think I would have a lot of time to read it before it was due back at the library, but I ended up reading it over the first weekend. I like her style of writing. Easy reading for sure. The twist at the end actually wasn't as good to me as some thought, but not bad. A great debut for the author all the same!

This starts out as the typical monster-in-law tale. With many a twist and turn, we arrive at a place I did not expect. A page-turner!

This novel grabbed me from the first page. I read it in a few hours. However, the ending was anticlimactic and improbable. The reasons for the behaviors of several of the characters weren't as earth-shattering as one would expect based on the pace of the rest of the novel. Still, a worthwhile read.

Sometimes you just need a book to grab you and take you for a ride. Jone's debut novel does that. The storytelling is simple and it's no literary masterpiece, but I must say I was hooked until the very end. Let's face it. Who needs a nasty meddling mother-in-law to be? You have to wait to get the final revelation.

Good fast paced read. I kinda had a feeling where it was going so no shock & awe ending. In reality there were many choices that could have been made instead of the one that was.

Touted as a strong debut novel, I had higher hopes for this book. Alas, I found the story reminiscent of a Lifetime Original movie full of predictable characters doing mostly boring, predictable things. The British turns of phrase were enjoyable but I struggled to bond with the main character or to understand her inner motivations. Perhaps because I had already guessed correctly at the ending mid-way through the book, the "twist" at the end wasn't particularly satisfying or believable. That said, if you're looking for an easy book to get you through a cross-country flight or a long car ride, this one could work.

This is the story of girl meets boy, girl and boy fall in love and boy has an evil mother. Emily meets Adam and they quickly fall in love. It's so fast that I didn't really feel how much they were in love. Next thing we know they are planning their wedding. But from the first time she meets her, Adam's mother Pammie, tries everything to make Emily uncomfortable, and try to break them up. Adam and his younger brother James have a weird attachment to Pammie. It takes the Momma's boy to a whole new level. But Emily isn't going to let what Pammie is doing to stop her from marrying Adam.

I know there are some horrible mother-in-laws out there and I'm so glad I like mine. Some of books are based in England so I really liked the location of this book. I did like the characters, well most of them and I did want to know why Pammie was being such a horrific beatch. This is a great summer read with a lot of twist and turns and surprises and a scary moment. I highly recommend this book.
