"The missing man is a Silicon Valley big shot known to all as the Big Kahuna. Nick and Kate's only lead takes them to Hawaii, where the missing man's free-spirit, drop-out son spends his days looking for the perfect wave and his nights puffing weed. To get close to the Kahuna's son, Kate and Nick go undercover as a married couple in the big-wave surfer community on Maui's North Shore. Living a laid-back, hippy-dippy lifestyle isn't exactly in Kate's wheelhouse, but the only thing more horrifying is shacking up with Nick Fox--even if he does look pretty gnarly on a longboard. If they don't catch a break soon, waves aren't the only thing she's going to be shredding (or bedding).

This book was so disappointing. I couldn't finish it. Lee Goldberg obviously made this series. I hope he comes back for the next book or I'll have to wrap this series up.

I miss Lee Goldberg! This sixth installment did not do much for character development with the exception of Jake -- the king of distractions. He was my favorite character in this book. What a total BA! Anyway, in true Evanovich fashion there is lots of action, and quirky characters. Also loved the exotic locales -- sort of made me think of the challenges from the Amazing Race at times, too. Some have been annoyed by Cosmo, but I like him as a foil for Kate and Nick. If there is a #7 I will give it a chance.

I enjoyed the author's Stephanie Plum novels, but frankly this book was terrible. The two "rogue" agents set out on a path of total unrealistic destruction (exploding buildings, sinking boats, shooting down helicopters, etc) in order to get their man. I didn't understand the relationship between the two main characters, nor did I like either of them. The "irritating coworker" awkwardly inserted for comic relief was so irritating I just skipped his dialogue while reading. I basically skimmed the last 3rd of this book just to get it over with.

I loved this book! There was so much action and lots of humor. Indeed, most the action was unbelievable, but I find that when I feel the need to get lost in action, I prefer it to be the unbelievable type that unlike the tragedies we watch unfolding every day on the news.

There is a very promising story line behind this novel and some really funny character interactions. But I am giving up on this one. I laughed a lot, but in the end I wanted to have more story and less hilarious (and unrealistic) character interactions.

I am halfway through the big Kahuna and loving it. I have tried reading the books Evanovich has coauthored with Lee Goldberg but I could not finish them because they were so bad. They were all action with very little evidence that she had done anything other than lend her name to the books so they would sell. I cannot wait until the next one she coauthors with her son. I simply have to rate this book as a 4 out of 5.

With the previous Fox and O'Hare the bantering, the sexual tension, the cast of characters was like an old Hollywood romantic comedy. ‘The Big Kahuna’ is missing every bit of that and falls flat. The silly is there, the charm isn't.

I feel that the authors were writing to the blatant sexuality of movies today. The characters we've come to know, those actually included, no longer sizzle. They are like over-cooked asparagus, colorless and limp. Had it not been for that, the chase, with its cast of wacky characters could have been rather fun.

Sorry Janet, while your son Peter deserves a place in your heart, Lee Goldberg is crucial as a co-author.

It’s taken me 6 days to read a 1 day book. Wish I’d read the comments first. She should have stuck with Lee Goldberg.

I used to really like this author but her last few books have been hard to finish. I got about halfway through this one and really couldn't care how it ended so I stopped reading to move on to another book.

This book tried to be funny, but it was mostly annoying.
Didn't even finish it.
