Geralt of Rivia is a Witcher, one of the few capable of hunting the monsters that prey on humanity, a mutant who is tasked with killing unnatural beings. He uses magical signs, potions, and the pride of every Witcher--two swords, steel and silver. But a contract has gone wrong, and Geralt finds himself without his signature weapons. Now he needs them back, because sorcerers are scheming, and across the world clouds are gathering.

This Witcher book was written after the Lady of the Lake. While I was curious how the story would carry on after the events in Lady of the Lake, most of this book takes place sometime between the short stories from the two books before Blood of Elves. The Epilogue however actually does take place after the events in Lady of the Lake.
Sapkowski's writing style changed in this book kind of like how it changed when Sapkowski turned the wittcher into a large singular story after writing short stories. I also thought that out of all the Witcher books this is probably the darkest one written. Overall I thought this was a great book and although this is the final witcher book to the best of my knowledge I think that Sapkowski did a great job ending it because it leaves the story in a place where he can continue it or others can continue it kind of like how CD Projekt Red expanded it in the video game series.

Prequel to the Games: Good to read after The Last Wish and Sword of Destiny so you have a good background on Geralt and the world he is in. It does work as a standalone, though.

The sarcasm, magic, sword fighting, and political scheming is all there. It was a great and entertaining read.

Season of Storms by Andrzej Sapkowsk is a return to The Witcher's world. Season of Storms is the sixth novel and eighth overall book in the Witcher series written by Polish fantasy writer Andrzej Sapkowski, first published in Poland in 2013.

"Geralt of Rivia is a Witcher, one of the few capable of hunting the monsters that prey on humanity. A mutant who is tasked with killing unnatural beings. He uses magical signs, potions, and the pride of every Witcher - two swords, steel and silver.

But a contract has gone wrong, and Geralt finds himself without his signature weapons. Now he needs them back, because sorcerers are scheming, and across the world, clouds are gathering.

The season of storms is coming..."

I really liked this book. The author is back on form. I give it a 4 out of 5.
