This is the second Brad Thor/Scot Harvath novel I've read. It's better than the previous one I read ("The Lions of Lucerne"), but I must say I'm still underwhelmed. There is good action, but for an ostensible realistic story line, it stretches the bounds of believability. There are numerous scenes where the action is fairly hard to accept. Think Tom Cruise action scenes.

Also, as was the case with "Lions", the editing is subpar - an example: after Harvath gives a policeman an assumed name, the policeman refers to him as "Mr. Harvath".

All in all, with the combination of the lax editing, implausible plot lines, and numerous unlikely scenes, I'll probably pass on other Brad Thor books. There's too much competition out there for me to waste my reading time on these novels.

Thrillers are not my favourite genre. I have just started reading books by Baldacci, Lee Child, and James Patterson. I picked up Brad Thor's "Spymaster" with great expectations and was disappointed. Scott Harvath, the leading character is a larger than life hero who makes things happen. He and his posse are members of a private spy ring and they are trying to eradicate a Russian Plot to destabilize NATO and take over Europe. The scenes are a little unbelievable but all in all not bad.

very disappointing. Too much historical and geographical information. Had to skip many pages to get to any action.
