In Dear Fahrenheit 451, librarian Annie Spence has crafted love letters and breakup notes to the iconic and eclectic books she has encountered over the years. From breaking up with The Giving Tree (a dysfunctional relationship book if ever there was one), to her love letter to The Time Traveler's Wife (a novel less about time travel and more about the life of a marriage, with all of its ups and downs), Spence will make you think of old favorites in a new way. Filled with suggested reading lists, Spence's take on classic and contemporary books is very much like the best of literature sometimes laugh-out-loud funny, sometimes surprisingly poignant, and filled with universal truths. A celebration of reading, Dear Fahrenheit 451 is for anyone who loves nothing more than curling up with a good book-- and another, and another, and another!

A sweet, amusing book about books and libraries. There are some great book recommendations and silly ruminations here. It was great on audio - Annie Spence's personality, humor, and puns come through. A lighthearted, fun book.

This is a fun book for any book lover but will be especially loved by anyone who works in a library. The tone is quite snarky which may not appeal to some people but I found it to be a really entertaining, quick read.

So very funny -- I think millennial book lovers are sure to see themselves in these pages. Annie is irreverent and snarky and has read widely and adventurously. Yet even as she skewers certain titles, she also makes the absolutely essential point that ALL reading is good reading if YOU enjoy it. A word of warning: your "TBR" list may grow exponentially as you take note of the recommendations here!

I loved every single page of this! If you love books (or are curious about what goes on in a librarian's mind about books and reading), this book is for you. It's funny, dry, sarcastic and full of hilarious insights that had me rereading passages aloud to anyone who would listen.
