not one of my favorites. Love his books usually and still liked the characters but plot was slow til the end.
One of the best (so far) of the Alex Delaware books. Kellerman has a great writing style, injected with humor and humanity as well as crackerjack detecting and plenty of clues to mull over.
This story contains a complicated plot and quite a few characters, yet the reader follows it all easily without having to go back a few pages or chapters to refresh info on an event or character.
I read this book i a couple of long sessions, and found myself vexed at having to put it down when real life demanded my attention.
Nice to see an author getting better as a series moves forward.
Lt. Milo Sturgis' case has Dr. Alex Delaware brushing up on odd psychiatric conditions.
The murders are strange, the characters even stranger, and everyone is hiding a secret by being evasive or confrontational.
Not only a who-done-it, but a why-did-they-do-it story with complicated twists to keep you guessing.
Definitely had to be awake to follow this one!
Thank you HPL for access to the e format of this title.
Like all Kellerman books. Great book.
Been a fan for years, but I gave up on this one halfway through--the characters are unsympathetic and therefore too hard to invest in caring for their predicament.
another winner for Mr. Kellerman. great book!
A raft of disfunctional characters, red herrings, blind ends. More days in the lives and investigations of Milo Sturgis of the LAPD, and Alex Delaware, the brilliant psychologist whose insight is crucial to solving the really complicated cases.
Another awesome read by Jonathan Kellerman. NIGHT MOVES continues his long series with Alex Delaware and Milo Sturgis cooperating as psychologist and cop respectively to solve crimes. This one has a bunch of seemingly unrelated things going on that eventually come together as part of the same puzzle. Milo does lots of interesting cop work on a weird crime and with a psychologist partner, we get to see insights into character added to Milo's factual work. The interplay between the two is it's usual mix of fun and seriousness, underlying humor and sarcasm, and a great example of honest give and take between two people looking at the same things through different lenses to accomplish a common goal. Would that the world today could interact that way more often these days. Great read.
One and a half stars from me. I was expecting a lot from this book, but to me it was a huge disappointment. A Detective along with a psychologist usually makes for an exciting read, but not in this book. The characters were poorly developed and it made it difficult to relate to them. So many pages are wasted on mundane and irrelevant details, which made it seem like the author had to fill pages to complete the book.. I read 68 pages before finally giving up. Don't waste your time on this book!
