I listened to the audio version of this and all I can say is WOW! Between a great story and the superb narration done by Savannah Richards, I don't think it gets any better than this. Ms. Showalter starts us out with a girl who has been bullied by the "pretty girls" all her life and the guy that came to her defense in high school and resulted in her falling hard for him. Fast forward to a time when life has punched them both in the face and then thrown them back together. Daniel has been in the military and now has PTSD that he feels makes him ineligible for a long term relationship. Dorthea has suffered a trauma, is now divorced, and has given up on all her dreams. They come together in what could be a healing atmosphere for both of them, but the road to happiness and love is bumpy. Can they hold on tight enough to weather the bumps and storms along the way and both truly feel that they are their best when together?
If you have the option, I highly recommend the audio version of this. It was fantastic!
