Many things about this series did not make sense to me. Victim blaming was excessive, the mother was terribly overbearing. I thought three of the families were very dysfunctional. The female detective was very harsh and the male detective did not have his priorities in order. I watched this until the end but I would not recommend this.
Like someone's high school video project. Everything about this is off, contrived, and awkward, starting with the boisterous jumpy music that starts each episode, followed by glacially slow plot development. Many scenes were devoid of sense, as if they had been cut back but somebody forgot fill in transitions. Weighty clues dropped throughout lead nowhere.
It was interesting and trying to understand how a person can have such control even in a free location. I guess such things are very possible. The closing of the story was hard pinched.
Starts off well but soon becomes ponderously slow. Good to watch if you want to get some sleep. Nothing original or thought provoking about this series. I recommend Orphan Black as an overall better series to watch.
Started out quite good but after about 1/3 it became more like a movie of the week. Was an okay timewaster but sometimes if thats all you expect then its ok...I just expected more from some of the reviews I read on here.
A mini-series about a 26 year-old woman who claims to have escaped from a hostage situation of 13 years length. The five-part series deals with proof of her identity, police interrogations about her confinement and kidnapper, and the unsettling conditions when her loved ones try to integrate her into her old life even though she is quite a different person from when she was thirteen. All these complexities make this much more than a mere crime who-dun-it. Hopefully, the series was inspired by real-life experiences of previous kidnap victims.
Episodic, gloomy, and ponderous story of a girl kidnapped at 13 and who escapes 13 years later. Now an adult, she finds it hard to reintegrate into her family, who of course due to her disappearance have experienced hardships of their own. There are moments of joy, but they are far and few between, as one might suspect. Overall worth watching for fine performances, but patience will be required!
episode 1 is compelling with superb acting the story starts to loose its way in episode 2 in episodes 3 4 and 5 it moves all over the board some scenes are unrealistic and make the police look incompetent i kept hoping it would find its way back but no a weak ending
