New York Times Imogen Maxwell is on a hunt for rare, antique items to use on a period movie set. The last thing she expects to discover in the peaceful Scottish countryside is a pristine medieval sword...or to suddenly find herself facing its very vintage owner in a far too authentic castle. Phillip de Piaget has run out of patience with his recalcitrant Scottish betrothed and is determined that she will join him, once and for all, in front of the altar. Only the lass he captures fleeing his would-be keep seems more interested in running away from him than talking to him. In fact, she seems to have no idea who he is. But taming his reluctant bride is the least of his worries; it seems someone else wants him at the a stone box. As for Imogen, how can he let her go, when she holds the key to not only the castle, but his heart?

I have been reading Lynn Kurland books since 1997. I didn't think anything could be worse than her last book "Dreams of Lilacs," but this one tops it! No real description of what characters look like, which I know might not be a problem for some. It was near impossible for me to connect with the heroin, and the story just seemed to repeat itself and drag on and on and on! No real romance between the male and female leads (I mean, not even a kiss!) and none of her fun time travel quirks until at least page 200. I miss the classic Kurland stories from my youth. Please come back, Lynn!

A bit disappointed with this one - it seems an annoying and continuing trend for these books and this author. I really wanted to like this one and looked forward to it, but I didn't like the heroine and I just didn't care... unfortunate, because there are several books in this series that I return to repeatedly.

As always I have enjoyed Lynn Kurland's book. Tis one was a bit different but still very good. Kept me wondering how she was going to tie it up.
