I didn't realize this was part of a series until I had started it, but it didn't feel like I was missing anything from D.D.'s previous exploits. This is one of the most exciting books I've listened to, making me look forward to my next commute to hear more. While the subject of the book is difficult, going through Flora's latest kidnapping while slowly learning about her previous experience was very thrilling. The writer did a good job at revealing details at a good pace, and keeping me guessing until the end. I had some theories about the kidnapper but was wrong, which is fine with me. If the mystery is too easy to solve it's not as fun.
