Toni Collette and Drew Barrymore are excellent in this film about a long time friendship between two women. You will laugh, but get out your handkerchief. Kristi & Abby Tabby

Watched this film on International Women's Day. Film is about breast cancer, but also about two women's lifelong friendship, male/female relationships, being parents, and life's ups and downs and important moments. Powerful acting by Toni Collette and loved Drew Barrymore and Jacqueline Bisset in it as well. Just a warning that it can be painful to watch in parts.

This romantic/drama stars Drew Barrymore and Toni Collette, two friends who are going through major moments in their lives at the same time. Milly is undergoing treatment for her breast cancer while her best friend Jess is doing her best to get pregnant. The movie clearly contrasts both life and death, and how the two things affect relationships and individual lives. This movie will definitely make you laugh and cry even through the cheesy and awkward bits. I would rate this movie 4/5 stars and recommend it to those who like emotional tear-jerker movies that end both happily and sadly.

This was an amazing story of life and friendship! Prepare your tissue boxes - I cried A LOT! Milly and Jess have done everything together - they experienced their first kiss on the same day with the same boy, Jess was present both times Milly found out she was pregnant and when she gave birth. But when Milly finds out she has cancer, it takes her a week to tell Jess, and from then on their friendship experiences complications that they must overcome to be able to celebrate life's joys and just be there for each other through all of the important moments.

What friendship is all about. Enjoyed seeing a supportive husband who was there in sickness and health. Beaches updated.

Miscategorized: don't like finding out I'm watching a cancer story when I was looking for a comedy...

Ireally hoped to like this. The reviews were pretty good. I thought Drew Barrymore was really weak, I didn't believe in her character, and she seemed really weak. Milli and her husband Kit were fabulous. You believed in them, their love and their struggles. They were very watchable. I was disappointed with it overall and wouldn't recommend.

I guess I liked it. While I love Toni Collette, I did not like her self-involved character here.
It's a sad story. It's a story about husbands devotion to their wives. But not really vice versa. Liked Drew Barrymore's character.

This is a very predictable movie. The acting of Toni Collette and Drew Barrymore was vey good. Overall I enjoyed this very sad, real to life movie.

Midwife: Take a breather. You can have that baby now.
Jesse: Glad you're here.
Milly: Me, too.
Jesse: How could you not tell me this was this painful? How did you do this twice?
Milly: I don't know.
Jesse: Stop rubbing my shoulders. I need a knife. I just wanna cut the baby out.
Milly: She's usually very sweet.
Jesse: No, I'm not! I'm an evil bitch and that's why God is hurting me like this. I can't do it.
Milly: Jess, sweetie. Sweetie. Look at me.
Jesse: I can't do it. I thought I could, I can't.
Milly: I know right now it feels like you're shitting out a pineapple.
Jesse: Yeah.
Milly: I know that. But trust me, this is the best thing you will ever do. So keep pushing. Keep pushing, I know you can do it.
Milly: OK. OK.
Lots of people are bald. Men are bald, yes. Babies. ET. ... Not me.
- How could the tumour have gotten so big?
- It's aggressive, like you. Jesus.
- Well, is it contained?
- In my body, yes.

Jesse: What about your mum? (help to get the shopping in, gets the kids off to school. Arranges play dates.
Milly: 'Our Miranda' has very thoughtlessly got herself a job on some crappy mini-series.
Jesse: Oh, she got the part in "Shakespeare's Women". Good for her.
Milly: "Shakespeare's Shags" more like. Yeah, it's good for her. Not for me.
Milly: Why have you brought me an outfit from a 1970's sitcom?
Miranda: Darling, it's vintage. To keep Kit interested. Sex is so important and he's awfully dishy.
Milly: Well, I will make sure I do not wear that.
Miranda: But if that side of things slides away, then...
Milly: Then what? I've only got myself to blame? Is that what you're saying?
Miranda: I'm trying, Milly
Jesse: I can't have any drama in my life right now, and Milly is drama.
Miranda: Please, Jess. Help her to sort everything out. I know she's drama, but she's our Milly.

Jesse: In you go. Get that hot arse in there.
Milly: These cobblestones
are the bane of my existence! How do those Italian bitches All right, I miss you already.
Jess: Miss you already.
Milly: My mother is sucking out my brain meat. It was your bright idea to have her move near us. I was blinded by the thought of free babysitting.
