I've had this on repeat for a couple weeks now. Some tracks are like spoken word poetry with a punk rock backdrop. Others are fun and folksy jams. Her lyrics are so smart, funny and conversational, I just want her at my next party.

She is awesome. She makes me want to pick up a guitar and start singing about all my interesting thoughts. Thankfully, I stop myself. She is a great lyricist who makes it look easy.

It took me a second to fall for Courtney, but she's pretty loveable. She reminds me of Liz Phair but with more folksy lyrics.

This woman is a true wordsmith, often compared to Bob Dylan, but a little more rockin'! One of the best records of 2015. Recommended by Sarah

Puns and wordplay and sometimes rambly stream-of-consciousness observations of everyday life. Lyrically Courtney Barnett is like if Eminem had an indie, lesbian, Australian twin.

Her album is definitely worth a listen.

Super catchy music, was getting serious airplay earlier in the year. I don't think edition has the track she did with Jack White though.

This is a really great album. She is a witty songwriter and her music is a joy to listen to.

One of my favorite albums of 2015 so far. Will appeal to fans of 90s indie guitar rock and fans of good music. Barnett's from Australia.

Courtney Barnett makes sounding simultaneously nonplussed and triumphant an art form. Echoes of Nirvana, Dylan and Lou Reed abound along with strains of 1960s folk-rock and 1990s alternative, with everything sounding fresh and confident. Barnett is a terrific lyricist – one of the best in rock currently – and a splendid guitarist. “Pedestrian at Best” stands as one of the very best songs of 2015.

Put this record on while I was mowing the lawn this week. It immediately caught my ear. Super catchy, quirky, smart lyrics and great sounding production. The guitars are badass and crunchy. The drums sound killer. This record lives up to the current hype. Truly great!
