Perhaps because I was already familiar with the characters and invested in their story, I found “Brood” to be a quick and easy read. Nonetheless, the moral of the story is the same as in “Breed”: be careful what you wish for. And again, the kids are up to their old bad habit of running away… but not too far away. Also, whatever happened to the twins’ brother? He’s not mentioned at all.
