Dancing With the Stars sensation Amy Purdy reveals the story of how losing her legs led her to find a spiritual path. When the Las Vegas native was just nineteen, she contracted bacterial meningitis and was given less than a two percent chance of survival. In a near-death experience, she saw three figures who told her: "You can come with us, or you can stay. No matter what happens in your life, it's all going to make sense in the end." In that moment, Amy chose to live.

Amy is an amazing women with determination and courage. Her autobiography is inspiring to never give up and if you have faith and believe in yourself anything is possible.

I heard about Amy through her organization Adaptive Action Sports. When I saw the known name in library rack and its about her own story, I could not resist reading it out of interest how she could manage but about the iron (footed!) lady- its just said about her struggle or her passions. I don't want to say her autobiography is inspirational- its more than that. Its motivating, its something which we don't encounter everyday but whenever you face, you know how to overcome. Its just like the phrase 'Phoenix from the ashes'. A must read for everybody.

I first heard about Amy Purdy when she was a contestant on Dancing with the Stars. When I saw she had a biography out, I put it on hold. I'm really glad I did. This book tells about her life before her illness and then about her hospitalization, removal of her legs, recovery, needing a kidney transplant, more recovery. And moving on. Amy had tough decisions to make, she made them, and she grew and became an amazing woman, showing great resiliency and courage. Her biography is inspirational; she has such at attitude of gratitude that I believe I can also have more gratitude for the hard things in my own life. This is definitely worth the read.
