Ever since she was a child, Ivy has been gripped by visions of strange realms just beyond her own. But when her sister goes missing, Ivy discovers the truth is far worse--her hallucinations are real, and her sister is trapped in a parallel realm. And the one person who believes her is the dangerously attractive guy who's bound by an ancient legacy to betray her. Adrian might have turned his back on those who raised him, but that doesn't mean he can change his fate, no matter how strong a pull he feels toward Ivy. Together they search for the powerful relic that can save her sister, but Adrian knows what Ivy doesn't: that every step brings Ivy closer to the truth about her own destiny and a war that could doom the world. Sooner or later, it will be Ivy on one side and Adrian on the other--and nothing but ashes in between.

The is the first book in a trilogy. Ivy and Adrian have to get past their mistrusts of each other and try to find an ancient weapon that she will need to kill demons and save the world. This was a very good book from beginning to end. Looking forward to the second book in this series.

I picked up this book primarily because I was looking for a paranormal romance similar to the one in the author's debut series which was sexy and fun. Unfortunately, the entire set up of the hero and heroine getting together was 'fate-based' i.e. they were destined to be together, so the relationship build-up was pretty much thrown out of the window. The plot itself was never able to fully ground itself and it was a bit confusing as well. Secondly, I do not care for heroes who have a tendency for violence just so they could prove how 'evil' they are. And finally, I do not care for heroines who justify said violence done against them.

This is nothing like the Night Huntress series or the Night Prince Novels. Reads like a young adult book. I'm not sure yet if I will get into the series. I didn't hate it, but it's definitely not as captivating as the adventures of Cat & Bones!

As a Frost fan, I was eagerly anticipating this new publication (used a hold to get it). Unfortunately, I found it to be a disappointing read. I don't see this rated as young adult but it reads like one. Unless you are looking for a Twilight-ish story, I recommend you pass on this.
