Founder of the MIT Media Lab, Nicholas Negroponte pushed the envelope of the information revolution as an inventor, thinker, and angel investor. Today he's the driving force behind One Laptop per Child, an organization committed to building computers for children in the developing world. So far it is responsible for supplying every kid in school in Uruguay with an XO laptop. A pioneer in the field of computer-aided design, Negroponte has funded more than 40 startups and has served on the boards of such companies as Motorola and Ambient Devices. In this TEDTalk, Negroponte discusses the One Laptop per Child project, two years in. Speaking at the EG conference while the first XO laptops roll off the production line, he recaps the controversies and recommits to the goals of this far-reaching project.
