Add a CommentOkay from me. Geared towards kids, which is fine, but the movie itself seems immature. Not a necessary watch. The visuals are great, but the dialogue...
Very good movie! It was a little babyish at times but over all, I'd give it a 8/10. Sometimes I think the camera angles are a bit bad at times too. And, AllForHim, dinosaurs is spelled D-I-N-O-S-A-U-R-S! NOT D-I-N-O-S-A-U-R-A-S!
My kid LOVES this movie, and it's definitely entertaining with great CGI and some one-liners that even grown-ups can find funny. But its got enough violence that we had to fast forward through many scenes for my very easily scared 4 year old.
However, the underlying values are troubling for me. The thing that bothers me the most is that the only female character is a brainless love interest, with no character, and no loyalty, who gets pushed around and needs frequent saving. And then there's that troubling bit where they laugh at someone for having really short arms (uncomfortably close to making fun of disabled people). And glorified fighting saves the day.
So, if none of those things bothers you, then you'll love this film as much as my child does!
I thought this was a different film which is more educational, but it was a fluff piece. I had seen one years ago from England where it had a documentary style but with CG subjects. This was a younger kids cartoon and my 11 year old thought it was OK, but it did have that annoying cartoon sound and voices that I try to avoid.
Educational and entertaining.
This is is awful ! ...when I got this NYPL disc home and put this movie in the DVD player...and the screen says: "NOT FORMATTED FOR THIS REGION" !!?? ( Even though it states "Region #1", on the DVD jacket !!?)
I have watched a thousand other New York Public Library DVDs on my Panasonic Region 1 DVD Player,.. but this one makes it 32 TIMES that a film has have come up as "NOT FORMATTED..." etc. !
I waited a long time to get this highly recommended film.
...VERY DISAPPOINTING !!
I really wanted to see this movie.
And I know that ALL the NYPL copies of it will have this same problem !!
WHY is the New York Public Library buying DVD's that are "NOT FORMATTED.." to be viewed in this region ?
Has this ever happened to anyone else out there ??
Perfect for kids.
Good animation... Slow for the adults, but great for kids...
my 4 year old boy really enjoyed this movie, was not scary and a great intro to Dinosauras and learning their variety of type/kinds with a fun story to follow-highly recommend
Obviously this film was done in the footstep of the 2000 film, 'Dinosaur'. However, it pales by comparison in all aspects. I find the voice-over to be very annoying. Only kids obsessed with dinosaurs will get anything from this poorly made film.
