Wow, an amazing novel with complex story line. For any woman who has suffered or lived through an abusive relationship this hits really close to the core but the story is not just fixated on the evil. Difficult family ties are common to all and author Cathy Lamb uses a dry wit and slanted view point to help diffuse many awkward and potentially lethal encounters. Once I got into the novel I couldn't put it down. It does have a soft happy ending, but a long struggle to get there that gives the readers a full appreciation for the strength women have to overcome obstacles.
