Fairly enjoyable, but I do get tired of her conversational dysfunction, akin to an awkward 13 year old's - I think it is supposed to be endearing? - and her relentless incompetence.
A really good urban fantasy series. This is the 6th in the series but it stands alone pretty well. I personally thought it was the best in the series.
This is a series full of engaging characters, action & imagination. However, the overall storyline is starting to get a little old. Each book involves Joanne discovering some people who have been munched on & then searching for the supernatural monster responsible. They clash endless times & after endless pages of internal dialogue, Joanne emerges triumphant. The plot involving her & Morrison is getting really tiresome & static. Time to fish or cut bait. You have to really like the characters because the monster chases are completely interchangeable from one book to the next. Perhaps a little less introspective chatter & an injection of new characters in the next one?
