One of the most pressing questions facing the Corps of Discovery was the practical concern of what to bring on their drive to the Pacific. Takes the viewer 200 years into the past to join the Lewis and Clark Expedition and examine their stunning bill of lading, which included such items as 193 pounds of dehydrated soup and an experimental iron boat frame. From day-to-day survival to the scientific experiments of the crew, the viewer discovers how technology, craftsmanship, improvisation, and sheer determination were the keys to the success of the Expedition. Includes performance tests of modern replicas of the tools used on this famous journey.

Parents Beware. I checked out this DVD for my 12 year old son to use during our study of Lewis and Clark. We were enjoying the information until near the end. For some reason the creators decided to include some very inappropriate information about a ceremony the Corps of Discovery was invited to by one the indian tribes. The ruituals described are not appropriate for children and have nothing to do with the technology used during the Corp of Discovery. It was very disappointing to me that this information was included in the DVD.
