A great "guy" book. Lots of action and a super hero who survives violent fights and beatings, explosions, pursuits by land and air, etc. The author does an interesting job of incorporating facts about early Christian history and the creation of the NT by the Council of Nicea.

a good book to read...

Entertaining, but predictable. I realize that popular fiction is still in a "Dan Brown mode" of modern-day treasure hunters following historical clues, but most of the present-day action in this book struck me as contrived, and there wasn't a whole lot of meat on the hook of the historical parts of this book to draw the reader in.

Khoury likes to string out a variety of situations that result in a "catch and release" of the protagonist. Reilly is an action hero with good planning but poor execution as the villain continually escapes. This gets boring after three escapes and you are only 20 % done with the book. The most interesting parts of the book are the travels and travails of the ancient Templars.
