I loved the 1st part regarding Christian's journey. I agree that the rest was a bit lacking.

The first half of the book was rather entertaining in an animated-bible-lite sort of way. Yet [drags palms slowly down face, exhales] the second half of the book (i.e., the tale of the wife’s adventure as a good Christian) felt like an afternoon Fox News special on great woman of history and today. I’m not sure what that says about Fox News or this near 500 year old text (or me, for that matter) but I do know that my eyes glazed over > eyes closed > head rolled back > mouth breathing proceeded > jerked awake > and repeat, multiple times while reading this. Still glad I earned my ‘You Made It!’ sticker, though
