This was a good story overall, and a good addition to the numerous versions of Superman & Batman's first meeting. Being set in the late 1950's was interesting. Superman/Clark was such a country rube for most of the story, while Batman/Bruce was cold & calculating as he's portrayed in later years. So the two characters seemed to be from different time periods, but maybe that was intentional, to have Superman reflect the innocence of an earlier era.
Having these characters presented in text (or audio, in my case) is very different than reading a comic book; the visual element is missing but a good author can still create a picture in your imagination. My wife isn't interested in reading comics but liked listening to this on her commute, so this helps in my never-ending struggle to bring her into the comic world with me.
