Cassie, 33, wants a husband and kids, but nothing's worked. What's left? A professional matchmaker. Simon Dodson is very choosy about the clients he takes on. Cassie finds Simon a difficult, acerbic know-it-all, and she's astonished when he accepts her as a client. Claiming he has her perfect mate in mind, he assigns her 3 tasks that are all about Christmas. Despite a number of comical mishaps, Cassie does it all--and she's finally ready to meet her match. But just like the perfect Christmas gift, he turns out to be a wonderful surprise!

Personally I did not connect with this book. It was saccharinely sweet and overly simple. Characters were not well developed and did not go through any changes and the author made it very obvious who each character would end up with in the first few pages. Reads like a cheesy Hallmark movie that is like every other Hallmark movie.

A charming Christmas book about a woman searching for a husband and family for the perfect Christmas, and the professional matchmaker whom she develops feelings for. Loved the Christmas theme, and it was light and entertaining. Perfect for fans of the Hallmark Christmas Movies.

I must be a in a ho-hum mood because I found this one average. I think I really missed the angels which were not depicted in this book. Quick, short read in any case.

cassie and simon are perfect and it was interesting in how ordinary things can make the best of things.
worth it.

Decent little (actually quite little) romance. Predictable, of course, but romance readers don't seem to be into tension or mysteries.

Debbie Macomber writes what I call pleasant escapist fiction. She's well known for The Shop on Blossom St. series and many other titles too. This one features a young woman, Cassie, who wants to meet a suitable husband. At the recommendation of a friend, she goes to a professional matchmaker, only to find that he's the one she's really interested in. An enjoyable Christmas story.
