The book was okay – but not one of my favorites.

This is one of those books that only got published because the author had written other books and was probably under contract. What an awful book! The plot is barely credible and the events and characters are made to fit into the plot regardless of whether things make sense or not.

The author has created a series of entertaining books in the same tone as the Dan Brown, Robert Langdon character. This story (as with most of the other Steve Berry books I’ve read) is heavy on action and suspense, but it always follows some treasure hunt of an artifact of historical significance. It’s a bit far fetched to think the heroes not only fight for their lives but at the same time discover valuables lost to mankind. If you can suspend disbelief and just enjoy the ride then they are fun stories. I enjoy them and I’ll give this one a 4.

The latest in a captivating series that takes historical events and figures and weaves them with legend and lore to create fascinating action adventure stories. HIghly recommended.
