I cannot tell you how much I love this movie! I first saw it when it came out in theaters and I still watch it ever so often. This movie should get more love now, because it covers top issues. First, there is diversity: age and ethnicity. You have two characters who must be in their late 50s to mid 60s. The main characters are not all from the same race and at least one person is mixed race. Dr. Joshua Sweet is part-Native American and part-African-American. Second, there are women in STEM roles. Audrey is a teenage mechanic and Mrs. Packard is a communications expert (talking to her friend Margie underground). Third, there is a women in a leadership role. Helga Sinclair was known as a lieutenant, which means she got that rank from being in the military and she was probably not a nurse. Kida leads her people and makes the big decisions. Fourth, Milo is not your typical male hero. He relies more on his intellect then on his physical strength. Also can you name me another male Disney lead with glasses? I do not think so.

While I am not necessarily a fan of Disney making their animated films into live action movies, I think they should do this with Atlantis, because I think it can get more popularity. Also technology is so much better that you can do amazing special effects (that sub)!

Another one of Disney's criminally underrated films.

A Disney film I'd heard about before and that is often skipped over and forgotten like other films (The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Treasure Planet, etc.) by Disney that aren't considered "classics". Although not my favorite, it was interesting to watch. Kida and Milo are cute together, and Milo is sort of reminiscent of Jim from Treasure Planet-both want adventure, to live dreams whether past or present. The cast of background characters were all amusing in their own way, and each felt interesting/unique, not like carbon-copy stereotype-fill-ins. Although the storyline caused some eyebrow-raising, it was enjoyable and intriguing. Cool and unique in it's own way. :)

A beautiful and often overlooked Disney film with an unconventional hero and a fun, diverse cast. Slightly steampunk. Milo is definitely my favorite male Disney lead ever. You're missing a Disney masterpiece if you don't give this a watch.

I'd summon it up but it would take too long. Just watch the movie, its actually worth it. It's one of the few in this century that I do not see as a waste. JUST WATCH IT!
