(*Frequently spoken "McGarrett" quote*) - "Book him, Danno."
TV's "Hawaii Five-O" was (in its heyday) a popular cop show (set in Honolulu) that actually ran for 12 consecutive seasons (1968-1980).
If you want to see this show as it was at its absolute peak when the scripts were tight and the story-lines interesting, then, be sure to watch it within its first 5 seasons.
'Cause, believe me, following "Hawaii Five-O's" 5th season this program's ability to hold one's full attention began to wane significantly.
I love these series......amazing actors
Looked forward to watching this show every week. It is very different than the remake which I don't care for. I can see issues BUT it's over 50 years old and was small budget compared to the remake. The show worked because the cast worked together. It's sad that all the original cast are now gone.
The CLASSIC TV series start of season 1. Tight plots, great storis, weekly guest stars of the era and the pounding Mort Stevens theme music.. great series to watch. McGarrett is so IN CHARGE; he's above corruption & bribery and he is fearless.
this series is so wonderful. the cast is marvelous. no comparison to the current very weak series.
I love this series !
Have watched the entire series. Very entertaining with interesting characters and great scenery. Lots of over-the-top action but it all fits together, I really enjoyed watching!
Very good , enjoyed all of them !
Who would have ever thought that such a beautiful island paradise as Hawaii would be so riddled, like the rest of America, with crime? (You should see the inner city's skid-row district)..... With its tough dialogue, suspenseful plots and, of course, its catchy theme music, Hawaii Five-O, from the late 1960s, delivered many exciting moments as Detective, Steve McGarrett and his sidekick, Danny Williams, relentlessly cracked down on crime and brought the bad guys (and gals) to justice in the land of palm trees, pineapples and coconuts.
People get shot and some die. There's also numerous fist fights.
