Penelope Ashford, Portia Cynster's younger sister, is anything but a typical ton miss. Forceful, willful and blunt to a fault, she has for years devoted her considerable energy and intelligence to directing an institution caring for the forgotten orphans of London's streets. When her charges begin to disappear mysteriously, she turns to the one man she knows who might help her--Barnaby Adair.

Cynster Family Book (Reading Order) #20 (Barnaby Adair #1)

As a romance/mystery (mystery romance?) it's not too shabby, rather like an Amanda Quick. This worked as a solo story about a previous side character. I probably missed other Easter eggs as I have not read the Cynster series, but that's alright as the story still trucked along.

The characters enlightened my mood and kept me entertained within their relationship they where having.

Finally Barnaby's story! I loved the relationship that developed between the four main characters.
