I chose this book because I was looking for a mystery book featuring antiques or flea markets. I was disappointed with the book because it turned out to be more chick lit than mystery. That means that you have to like the protagonist to enjoy the story. I found Brandy an unlikeable woman whose main interest seems to be clothes and designer names. In the first chapter we learn that she has an ex-husband because she slept with another woman’s husband at her high school reunion, she has a son who she doesn’t seem concerned about and who is in the custody of her ex, and she has a sister who she resents despite the fact that it’s that same sister that remained in the small town and keeps an eye on their mother who has manic depression and doesn’t always stay on her medication. Oh, and Brandy also has a dog who is blind because she doesn’t have the money for the necessary operation - although Brandy does have designer clothes.
I also think the authors need a good editor. Instead of constructing well thought out sentences they use parentheses. Eleven sets of parentheses in the first four pages and that style continues throughout the book. I didn’t finish reading the book because the little interjections in parentheses were even more annoying than Brandy.

This is a fun series. Quick read, but would recommend reading in the order published. I read the latest one 1st & it was a spoiler for somethings in the 1st one.
